Movement
COB.01 by Manufacture Concepto
Inside the NÜRBURGRING ASPHALT 1 is the COB.01 caliber - the world's first movement with a rotor in the shape of a racetrack. Developed together with Concepto in La Chaux-de-Fonds, it combines Swiss precision with genuine racing DNA. A ruby marks the exact point where the Nürburgring asphalt was taken, while fine finishes such as Côte-de-Genève and hand-finished components make the movement a technical and aesthetic statement.

With the NÜRBURGRING ASPHALT 1, we have written a new chapter in watch history - the world's first watch face made from real racetrack asphalt. The original surface comes from the legendary “Tiergarten” section of the track and was removed on November 18, 2022. A 0.9 mm thick, coarsely textured dial was created by hand with precision - each one is truly unique.
Case
Titanium Grade 5
The case is made of grade 5 titanium, a particularly light and resistant material that is also used in the aerospace industry. It is complemented by a bezel made of scratch-resistant black ceramic with an integrated tachymeter scale. With a diameter of 44 mm, a case height of 15.6 mm and sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, the watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM). The screw-down crown has a triple sealing system, as does the screw-down sapphire crystal case back, which provides a view of the movement.
Strap
Natural rubber
The strap is made of high-quality, durable natural rubber (FKM 70 Shore) and guarantees maximum wearing comfort - even under the most demanding conditions. The Nürburgring model is fitted with a grade 5 titanium butterfly clasp, finished with an elegantly engraved COBLOR® logo - for a secure, comfortable and stylish feel.
Packaging
100% hard cardboard
The packaging was awarded the prestigious German Packaging Award in 2023. The jury praised the outstanding overall concept, design and graphic design of the packaging.
The box is made entirely of paper and cardboard and is inspired by the structure of a drill core: several layers of solid-colored cardboard are precisely laminated on top of each other to symbolize the characteristic layering of the racetrack asphalt. The side hinged doors provide space for certificates and other documents.
This sustainable and innovative packaging solution was developed by BRAUN Denk & Werk GmbH and underlines COBLOR's commitment to environmentally friendly design.
