Movement
COB.02 by Manufacture Concepto
At the heart of the watch beats the exclusive COB.02 caliber, developed in collaboration with Concepto in La Chaux-de-Fonds – one of Switzerland’s leading manufacturers of mechanical movements. The automatic chronograph movement with a bi-compax layout consists of 225 components, offers a 48-hour power reserve, and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz).
The specially developed rotor in the shape of the Hockenheimring makes the movement truly unique – a set ruby marks the exact spot where the original asphalt was extracted. The engraved geo-coordinates on the rotor lead directly to the finish line. Finest finishing touches such as Côte de Genève, anthracite-coated bridges, and hand-finished steel components emphasize the high standards in engineering, aesthetics, and exclusivity.
The dial
Over 60 years of racetrack asphalt from the Hockenheimring
The dial is made from genuine racetrack asphalt – an absolute novelty in the watch world and our unique selling point. The original surface was collected on April 23, 2025, from the start-finish area of the legendary Hockenheimring and handcrafted into a 0.9 mm thick, roughly textured dial. Each dial is a one-of-a-kind piece with palpable racing DNA. The indexes and hands are coated with Swiss Superluminova, ensuring optimal legibility – day and night.
Case
Forged Carbon Fiber
The case is made of two-tone forged carbon fibre, combined with a bezel of scratch-resistant black ceramic featuring a tachymeter scale. With a diameter of 44 mm, a height of 15.6 mm, and double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the model is water-resistant up to 100 m (10 ATM). The screw-down crown is equipped with a triple sealing system, and the sapphire case back is also screwed down.
Strap
Natural rubber
The strap is made of high-quality, durable natural rubber (FKM 70 Shore), providing maximum wearing comfort—even under extreme conditions. For the Hockenheim Edition, a solid stainless steel pin buckle with an elegantly engraved COBLOR® logo is used—robust, functional, and stylish at the same time.
Packaging
100% hard cardboard
The packaging was awarded the prestigious German Packaging Award in 2023. The jury praised the outstanding overall concept, design, and graphic styling of the packaging.
The box is made entirely of paper and cardboard and is inspired by the structure of a drill core: multiple layers of dyed cardboard are precisely laminated to symbolize the characteristic layering of racetrack asphalt. The side flap doors provide space for certificates and additional documents.
